My inspiration is my Grammy, Evelyn Shuman. She has been an angel in my life through my good and bad times and constantly encouraged me to prevail and triumph through my obstacles. She is my true example of what a DIVA (Divinely Inspired & Virtuously Awesome) is and has been a shining star to me as I have grown and matured into a woman. My Grammy has cried with me, laughed with me, prayed with me when I was at my lowest and she stuck with me and whispered encouraging thoughts into my spirit.
She has overcome her own share of adversity and even now continues to "fight" her way through health issues. She continues to share her knowledge and wisdom with myself and others and be an amazing example of what a true Woman of God is.
She raised four children, went back to college in her 40's, managed her church bookstore for 5 years, is still an active member in her church and an active member in her sorority. She is my "Chicken Little" and my Angel. I am appreciative and grateful to God (Universe) for blessing me to not only have her in my life as my Grandmother, but also as my angel guiding me in my journey of self and womanhood.
My Grammy stood by me when I didn't have the "fight" to live anymore and she prayed for God to give me strength. When some of the doctors didn't believe my health issues were real because they had never seen a Movement Disorder up close, she told me to keep pushing until I found the right doctors who could help me, and God lead me to them. When I was tired of the constant excruciating pain in my joints and muscles, the constant migraines, the uncontrollable muscle spasms, etc. she continued to encourage me and tell me this to shall pass.
She has continually fought for me to overcome every attack, obstacle, and trial that has come my way. I am eternally grateful and thank God that He is now building and restoring me to be able to not only give back to my Grammy and show her that her labor has not been in vain...but to be able to pass her love, knowledge, lessons and wisdom on to others to make a difference in their lives.
Thanks Grammy and thank you God for blessing me with my Angel!!
